Komorebi – Freund*innen der digitalen Kunst is a Vienna-based non-profit association dedicated to the promotion of digital, multimedia, and interdisciplinary art. Under the direction of media artist and lecturer Rebecca Merlic, the organization supports innovative artistic projects, exhibitions, research initiatives, and public programs that explore the intersection of art, technology, culture, and society. Through collaborations with artists, cultural institutions, researchers, and local communities, Komorebi fosters inclusive, experimental, and socially engaged practices that expand access to digital culture and encourage critical reflection on contemporary technological transformations. The association serves as a platform for creative exchange, knowledge sharing, and the development of new forms of artistic expression in both physical and virtual environments.
In addition, Komorebi organizes artist residencies and retreats, including the Artist Retreat at Villa Erzzi in Lovran, Croatia, a historic seaside villa that provides an inspiring setting for interdisciplinary exchange, artistic experimentation, and international collaboration.
